DO YOU NEED HELP?
CALL DIRECTION 2 HOPE’S 24/7 HOTLINE AT 877-532-6200

If you are in imminent danger, please call 911 immediately

Our hotline connects survivors with essential Direction 2 Hope resources, including access to shelter, counseling, legal assistance, and more. If our services are not the right fit, we also help callers connect with other agencies that can better meet their needs.

Our trained advocates are available 24/7 to support survivors seeking safety and assistance. They begin by assessing each caller's situation to ensure immediate safety, then work collaboratively to develop personalized safety plans, guiding families through the steps needed to safely leave an abusive environment.

SHELTER

We currently operate primarily in North Jersey, where there is a significant demand for our services. Survivors in our shelters have access to a wide range of support, including individual counseling for both children and adults, case management, group therapy, childcare, and legal assistance.

Our shelters serve as a lifesaving refuge, providing families with a safe and caring environment as they escape and hide from their abusers. All shelter locations are confidential and staffed 24/7 by trained advocates dedicated to ensuring the safety and meeting the essential needs of survivors

LEGAL AID

Legal assistance can often feel overwhelming and costly, but our contracted legal counsels offer free support to help survivors navigate the challenging legal process of leaving an abusive relationship or a trafficker. Services include assistance with divorce, custody cases, and obtaining protective orders. Additionally, we host monthly legal clinics to answer questions and provide guidance to survivors.

These legal and counseling services are available to both residential clients in our shelters and non-residential clients at our Resource Center.

Prevention

Direction 2 Hope is committed to preventing domestic violence and sex trafficking through education and early intervention. Our prevention plan focuses on partnering with local school districts to implement comprehensive programs aimed at raising awareness among students, teachers, and staff. By providing training sessions, workshops, and resources, we equip young people with the knowledge to recognize the signs of abuse and exploitation, understand healthy relationships, and know where to seek help.

This proactive approach fosters a safer community environment and empowers students to make informed decisions, identify red flags, and support peers who may be at risk. Through these collaborative efforts, Direction 2 Hope aims to break the cycle of violence before it begins, creating a foundation for safer, healthier futures.

While Direction 2 Hope is well-known for its victim support services and our strong commitment to ensuring their safety, our mission extends beyond immediate assistance. To truly end domestic violence and sex trafficking, we must also address the root causes of these issues and work towards preventing them from happening in the first place. Alongside our ongoing dedication to supporting survivors, we aim to create systemic change by tackling the underlying factors that contribute to violence and exploitation in our society.

COUNSELING

Direction 2 Hope offers individual and group counseling for women and children, providing a safe space to discuss past or current experiences of violence and begin the healing process. Each of our locations also features licensed play therapists to support the unique needs of children on their journey to recovery.

Our counseling services are available to both residents in our shelters and non-residential clients at our Resource Centers.

HOUSING

One of the biggest challenges survivors faces after leaving a shelter is securing stable and affordable housing. To address this, we collaborate with families to provide subsidized rent at scattered-site locations across various towns. Clients in transitional housing continue to have access to Direction 2 Hope's comprehensive resources, including counseling, case management, legal support, financial planning, and more.

Our goal is for transitional housing to serve as a safe steppingstone, helping survivors build a life free from abuse.
